Roberto Scoccimarro

Roberto Scoccimarro has beenworking since October 2022 on the project “How they used to sing Verdi?” at the University of Bologna. He has worked also as a musicologist in two projects of the Berlin State Library: “Schott Archive” and “Beethoven Collection at the Berlin State Library”. In the years 2013–2016 he worked on the project “Dresden Court Music” at the slub Library of Dresden. His research fields are musical theatre in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, sketches studies, and the composer Leonardo Leo. He was awarded a PhD in Historical Musicology at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz of Cologne (thesis: Die Drammi seri von Leonardo Leo (1697–1744). Studien zur Überlieferung, Stilistik und Rezeption, Berlin-Beeskow, Ortus 2020). He holds a degree in piano from the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia of Rome and studied composition for several years. He has also worked with German, Austrian and Italian opera houses as a guest author, particularly with the Berlin State Opera and the Vienna State Opera.
